There are four boutiques in Chicago.

The new Louis Vuitton boutique which resides on floor 1 of Nordies where the old Faconnable section used to be now stands as a shining beacon for all things Monogram Canvas, Suhali, Luggage, Shoes and the latest in LV limited styles. They have the newest Camo print, Mahina and almost a full section of small leather goods to boot. I did notice a strong lack of men's items, but a few briefcases and messenger bags are there for the oogling of the metro set.

The sales ladies are very sweet and helpful and even offered to order an already (jeez that was fast) out of stock item and will ship it to you for free. You will sense with this smaller boutique in such a large and highly trafficked store they may have this as a recurring issue.

Everything about this LV boutique makes you just want to BUY.  The Sales Associates are the nicest, coolest people in the world.  They are helpful, extremely knowledgeable, and genuine.  For a boutique within a dept store, this LV has alot of inventory.  They carry all the LV standards as well as the limited edition pieces  They also sell shoes, which is a big plus.  Lastly, the space itself is big and condusive to shopping!
Sales people here are patient helpful, and not at all snobby or presumptuous.  The guy who will help you actually suggest a bag you had not seen, based on the comments you are making about what you look for in a purse, and it turn out to be the one you buy.

The only complaint would be that a lot of the styles, even some of the true classics (e.g., Speedy, Papillon) aren't on display.  Also, it took a little while before someone asked you if you need assistance.  Although you will say that that tends to happen at any store where 95% of the customers are browsers.

The Louis Vuitton on North Michigan Ave is nothing short of a phenomenal store!

The service is great...as unintimidating as a high-end designer boutique can be, and the amount of inventory that the store carries seem to mirror the inventory in huge LV stores like NYC and LA.

Please note:  The LV store in Chicago for some reason does not display much merchandise.  They have amazing pieces of their collections that they have in store...they just don't put it out.  So if you know of a piece you love or had seen in another store but don't see in the Chicago store make sure you ask!  I've done that a couple times and they always seem to "have it in the back."

If you've been to the store before you know it's aces...but if you haven't ventured in yet make sure you do!

This swanky store is appropriately located along North Michigan Avenue. It is in the former Palmolive Building at 919 North Michigan, a classy skyscraper designed by the architecture firm Holabird and Root in 1930. It used to have the Lindbergh Beacon shining from the top. This tower was also the Playboy Building for a number of years when this was the headquarters for Hugh Hefner's Playboy empire. Nowadays the cool building is a bit overlooked, as it is sandwiched between the John Hancock Center and the Drake Hotel.
